Introduction
The landlocked scenario as described above can be found within the
wedge shaped district located in downtown San Francisco with “the
highest percentage of households living below the poverty line, [and] one
of the densest” – the Tenderloin. The studio, Architecture of Urbanism:
Simultaneous Ecologies, proposed key design strategies that actively
engage in addressing the current economic, demographic, and workforce
shifts within the Bay Area – specifi cally, through the lens of a community
center, Bio-Power Station, located on the southeast corner of Mason Street
and Turk Street.
