This thesis explores architecture as a lens, strategy, and process for rural development. Its intention is to create learning environments based on the particular place and resources available, while also seeking opportunities to expand beyond the current reality. The architecture is understood as a stage for making things possible, and for stories and experiences to emerge. This project seeks to address the relationship between water and architecture and the opportunities for learning environments in Tonle Sap Lake and River in Cambodia. The objective of this thesis is to better understand the unique ecosystem, culture, and history of this region and to design a learning system reflective of these considerations.
